"Ebb of Day"

Watching the sun set over San Francisco Bay from Alameda always fills me with joy. So many variations from rich and vibrant colors to subtle pastel hues, from high tide to the shoreline that appears with the ebb tide, provide ever changing and challenging vistas to paint.

I see painting as a way for me to remember and reveal the attachment I have to a particular place, a turn of light, the play of colors, or simply the emotion I felt when I first experienced that place. The act of painting is evocative and intimate to me, and through painting I seek to capture the intrinsic characteristics of my experiences. My artwork becomes even more special to me when a piece resonates with another, and a unique and personal communication is made.
